Our commitment: KidSafeTV is built for families. We collect only what is necessary to provide a safe, curated viewing experience for children. We never sell your data, and we never show ads.

KidSafeTV ("we", "us", "our") is a child-safe YouTube viewing platform operated by TV Tantrum Ltd. Our service is available via the web at www.kidsafetv.com and through our mobile companion app for Android and iOS.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
Account Information
- Email address and display name (provided during registration)
- Authentication credentials managed securely through Google Firebase Authentication
- Country (optional, for content region filtering)
Child Profile Information
- First name, birth month and year, and gender
- Content preferences and interests
- Session and entertainment settings configured by the parent
Usage Data
- Watch history (which videos were watched, duration, and session details)
- Post-session behaviour feedback provided by parents and caregivers
- Session configuration choices (energy pattern, session length)
Device and Technical Data
- Device type and operating system (for app compatibility)
- Firebase authentication tokens (for secure API access)
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect photos, videos, or audio from your device
- We do not access your camera or microphone
- We do not collect precise location data
- We do not track users across other apps or websites
- We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics that profile children
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to:
- Provide the service: Authenticate your account, build age-appropriate playlists, and manage viewing sessions
- Personalise content: Use watch history and preferences to select appropriate videos and avoid repeats
- Enable caregiver access: Allow invited caregivers to manage viewing sessions for your children
- Support Chromecast: Enable casting of curated playlists to TV screens on your local network
- Improve the service: Understand viewing patterns to better curate our video library
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with:
- Google Firebase: For authentication and secure token management
- YouTube (via embedded player): Videos are played through the YouTube IFrame API. YouTube's own privacy policy applies to video playback. We use youtube-nocookie.com where possible to minimise tracking
- Caregivers you invite: Invited caregivers can see the children assigned to them and manage viewing sessions on your behalf
- Payment processor (Stripe): If you subscribe, Stripe handles payment processing. We do not store your card details
6. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
KidSafeTV is designed for use by parents and caregivers. Children do not create accounts or interact with the app directly — all account management is performed by adults.
- Child profiles are created and managed exclusively by the parent or an authorised caregiver
- We collect only the minimum information needed to provide age-appropriate content (name, birth month/year)
- Children's viewing data is accessible only to the parent account holder and their authorised caregivers
- Parents can delete child profiles and all associated data at any time
7. Data Storage and Security
- All data is stored in encrypted databases hosted on secure cloud infrastructure
- API communications are encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
- Authentication is handled by Google Firebase with industry-standard security practices
- We retain your data only for as long as your account is active
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data and your children's data
- Correct inaccurate information in your account or child profiles
- Delete your account and all associated data, including child profiles and watch history
- Revoke caregiver access at any time
- Export your data upon request

The KidSafeTV mobile app may request the following device permissions:
- Network access: Required to stream videos and communicate with our API
- Local network discovery: Required to find Chromecast devices on your Wi-Fi network
We do not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, or files.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
